The American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric Courses teach how to recognize and manage sudden illnesses and injuries in Children and Infants for the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This course is specifically designed for those who are licensed daycare and child care providers or work at a facility that is licensed as such. It is also appropriate for members of the community who want to be prepared in the event of an emergency involving children or infants.
There are no prerequisites for this program.
American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid certification with CT supplemental materials for child care providers. This course is approved by the Department of Public Health to meet the requirements for a 6 hour First Aid course for Connecticut Childcare and Daycare Providers. The Completion Card which is valid for 2 years from the date of the course.
Approximately 6 hours for Pediatric First Aid with the CT Supplemental Materials; an additional 2 hours for the Heartsaver CPR/AED program.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Student Manual, First Aid Bag (gloves, gauze, triangular bandages, roller bandage), and 2 year American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Certification Card.
Proficient demonstration of course skills is required for certification. There is no written examination needed for certification.
